Is there such a thing as packaging that’s too modern? If so, please don’t tell these ten people who’ve designed these amazing concepts! While most of the ten incorporate some sort of clever design idea, each and every one of them takes packaging down to its most simplest form. What’s left? Not just a product that gives people an experience but packaging that surprises and delights even before anything gets opened!
Beer Crate by Luis Luna
Why is this beer crate so special? Because it's composed of two parts – a visually appealing carrying case with classic green plastic handles and an aluminum base with a detachable 12 bottles beer holder. The holder itself contains water, which upon freezing, keeps your beer cold. Now pass me a brewsky!
Doritos by Petar Pavlov
The internet is abuzz with this new packaging concept from Petar Pavlov. As Pavlov states, “The shape and the texture of the Doritos chips are used as the base of this packaging concept. What's good about the form of the packaging is its structure which can keep the chips closed after opening.” So not only did he make the packaging look like Doritos chips, you can close the bag of chips without any clips? Awesome!

Say goodbye to those boring old milk containers and say hello to this innovative packaging idea from Julien De Repentigny and Gabriel Lefebvre. An experiment in cardboard packaging as well as in communication, it represents the simplest way to explain the contents of the packaging by both word and image. By the way, did you know that the packaging is the same dimensions as a 2 liter milk carton? Awesome!
Pot (If it was legal) by Heads of State
Now you know we’re talking concepts, right? Recently, Print Magazine approached four design and packaging firms with a simple brief: If marijuana was legal, how could it be packaged? Our favorite packaging concept comes to us from Heads of State. The brand is built around a sticker system and since there’s a slight mystery involved in buying pot, they interjecting the names with a bit of humor. Cool!
