An Island Retreat in Ibiza (2 pics)

What do you think of when you hear the word Ibiza? Crazy party scene? Yes, me too. Perhaps you don’t imagine a tranquil and beautiful house to just relax in – like this one from Danish fashion designer Bjorn Bruun. Each summer he takes his wife, son and daughter to this holiday home. Set in the quiet northern part of the island, the house is an ideal retreat from Bruun's hectic life in Copenhagen. “Everything has a different pace in Ibiza,” he says. “It's just not a city way of life. The sun makes you very inactive.”

But don’t think it’s all peace and quiet here. Bruun sees this house as a “social space” where he gets to barbecue and where guests get to enjoy the outdoor sound system and 12-metre long pool.

Don’t you just love how the indoors spills into the outdoors?
