Sculptural Dragon Ornaments Protect Colorful Baubles Like Their Own Eggs

aelia-petro-dragon-baubles-1

Earlier this year, we marveled at Aelia Petro‘s mystical dragon jewelry that wraps around your neck as if you were Daenerys Targaryen. Since delighting us with those fantastical accessories, Petro has continued to craft the creatures. Now, they’re ready for the holidays as dragon ornaments that cling to baubles and bulbs. Not only are they ready to celebrate with you, but they’re on a mission, too. Petro has fashioned them as guardians of the colorful glass, and they protect them like their own eggs.

As with her wearable Dragon Draper pieces, Petro produces her intricate ornaments in much the same way. The characters are first hand sculpted, then cast in resin and painted in a variety of hues. Afterwards, she applies several coats of varnish to protect the figurines and then adheres them to a real bulb. Once they reach you, the dragon and bauble are ready to hang.

A selection of Petro’s holiday-inspired pieces are available through her Etsy shop, Art By Aelia.
