Astounding Animated Gifs


Jamie Beck and Kevin Burg have taken something used for mindless fun and turned it into a high art form. Animated GIFs are usually seen on teenage girls’ My Space pages and they’re usually full of glitter, unicorns, and flashing text. These two have taken that banal form and used it to create some really beautiful and moving images.


These great images speak to us from the ’30s or ’40s. I really like the style they use. You can see much more of their beautiful work at their website From Me to You.

Designed by Snøhetta—a design office that dabbles in landscaping, architecture, interiors, and brand design—the floating bungalow is tucked away in Northern Sweden and perfectly positioned for a sweeping view of the Northern Lights. The 7th Room is elevated by twelve 10-meter stilts and is beautifully built around the towering trunk of a pine tree.
