Anyone who has tried to skateboard knows how difficult it really is. It requires a great deal of balance, timing, and precision, but when done correctly it looks completely effortless.

Anthony Acosta can skate as well as he can shoot a photo. After assisting a professional photographer friend of his, he put the skateboard down as his main trade and started shooting skate photos. Now, he works for Vans, TheSkateboardMag, and freelances, snapping photos of friends he used to skate with. Here are some of my favorite shots from his portfolio.

Ever wonder what it would be like to swim with jellyfish? Travel and adventure photographer Kien Lam fulfilled this fantasy by flying across the globe to Jellyfish Lake in Micronesia. Anyone who has been stung by a jellyfish can attest—it’s not a pleasant experience. But Jellyfish Lake in Palau is filled with millions of jellyfish that have evolved in a way that makes it safe for humans to swim in the same waters.
