One Workplace’s Beautiful New Showroom and Headquarters

One of the largest furniture dealers in California, One Workplace has recently undergone an impressive renovation to their main showroom and headquarters. Designed by architecture firm Design Blitz, the new space is open and inviting, giving visitors a wonderful tour of the facilities while the staff gets a fun and unique environment in which to work.

Some highlights of the design are the custom steel facades which have been machined to create a homage to several trees that had to be removed during the construction. This creates a beautiful lighting effect on the interior hallway. During the reconstruction, Design Blitz, who promote themselves as “reductionist architects,” were enamored with the building's previous structure and decided to leave much of it exposed, which furthered the airy and open feel. They also took advantage of Santa Clara's temperate climate with a roll-up garage door in the work spaces. This allows for an effortless transition between the indoors and outside. Finally, the most eye-catching piece is the “boomerang,” which is a curving two-tiered platform that gives perspective buyers the ability to see exactly how their products will interact and solve various office space issues.
