Imagine a world turned upside down and you’ll understand the photos by Zack Seckler. His Less than Ordinary series turns everyday life into something quite unexpected. By throwing his subjects into strange surrounds, he creates interesting stories that leaves us with more questions than answers. We can appreciate the irony in his work but mostly we love how he makes us think about our own idiosyncrasies. Just where does Seckler find his inspiration? He says, “Ideas for photographs fortunately flow often and easily for me. They're invariably based off of elements in my immediate visual environment. So I consider anything around me to be an influence, and that includes the Wall Street banker at a check cashing shop, the dog relieving itself on a public drinking fountain and the panhandler checking the time on his Rolex watch.”
