Here at My Modern Met, we love seeing big cities in a whole new way. Remember Eric Rocco’s real Tokyo, Philipp Klinger’s fantastic Paris or Brian Parillo’s dramatic LA? What all these photographer have done is well is show us the beauty of that city’s architecture in ways we had never seen before.

Matthias Werner is a graphic designer who currently resides in Hamburg, Germany. As the second largest city in Germany, Hamburg is home to over 1.8 million people and is known as one of the most affluent cities in Europe. Werner takes us around his city, showing us his hometown from his point of view. Notice his attention to lines, patterns, color and typography.

Ever wonder what it would be like to swim with jellyfish? Travel and adventure photographer Kien Lam fulfilled this fantasy by flying across the globe to Jellyfish Lake in Micronesia. Anyone who has been stung by a jellyfish can attest—it’s not a pleasant experience. But Jellyfish Lake in Palau is filled with millions of jellyfish that have evolved in a way that makes it safe for humans to swim in the same waters.
