Playful Recreations of Classic Paintings on Toast

Food artist Ida Skivenes, better known as IdaFrosk, pays homage to the great painters of yesteryear with her playful food creations. The Oslo, Norway-based artist works particularly with toast as her canvas for her aptly titled series The Art Toast Project. The food paintings that IdaFrosk creates work with an assortment of ingredients that maintain a healthy diet.

From vegetables and fruits to various nuts and cheeses, the crafty artist utilizes every grocery item she can get her hands on to produce her whimsical creations. They are minimalist re-imaginings that capture the essence of each classic painting she is reproducing. IdaFrosk has already covered everyone from Van Gogh and Picasso to Pollock and Monet, with no present intention to stop. She continues to share her delightful “paintings” on Instagram.
