Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld has designed Casa Cubo, a personal museum of sorts, for an anonymous couple in So Paulo. More than just a place of rest, it is a space for the art enthusiasts to display their wonderful collection. The home away from home is both an architectural project that displays Weinfeld's own creations and design prowess as well as the works of other renowned artists, each piece serving as a permanent fixture.
The creatively collaborative house includes the figurative sculptures of Antony Gormley hanging from the ceiling like avant-garde chandeliers and Marina Abromovic's Double Edge ladder with knives in place of steps, in addition to Weinfeld's ironwood spiral floating staircase. Each architectural and fine art piece in the space offers its own element of surprise and individuality that manages to complement one another.
