Kollaboration, The Ultimate Talent Event, This Saturday!

This Saturday night, come out to the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles to watch some of the best Asian American talent at Kollaboration 9. This year you’ll see everyone from Korean singing superstar Boa (pictured above) to the hilarious Jo Koy to dancing wonders Kaba Modern and Fanny Pak from MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew. The talent portion will have performers duking it out for cash prizes. Who doesn’t remember seeing this crazy kid’s moves? He was from Kollaboration!

Like many dance photographers, Mohamed Taher has a knack for beautifully capturing the body in motion. His interest in movement is evident in his Ballerinas of Cairo series, and the captivating collection of photos also serves a more poignant purpose: it helps women fight sexual harassment and reclaim the city’s streets. After learning about the Ballerina Project, an ongoing series that documents dancers in urban settings across the globe, Taher was inspired to carry out a similar undertaking in the Egyptian capital.
