Modern Architecture – Rak Jebel Al Jais Mountain Resort: UAE (6 pics)

The natural landscape surrounding the proposed Rak Jebel Al Jais Mountain Resort is pretty outrageous. The new tourist village, set to be built in the the Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah in the UAE, is set on the top and over the sides of a mountain range. Designed by the Office for Metropolitan Architecture, the future resort will include hotels, residences, shopping, restaurants, offices, a convention center, and exhibition halls. Cable cars, and elevators will allow guests and residents to travel to various areas within the resort, while new roads will be built along the mountain tops, at times across big gaps.
