Design studio Super Nature Design submitted Weaving Forest, an installation made of two large reindeer and smaller structures all to be wound in yarn by viewers. The pieces are made of wood and outfitted with screws sticking out of the forms that help to hold the strings together. The piece debuted at Detour 2011, a festival held in Hong Kong and is meant to raise awareness of our consumerism and impact on the environment. The message the artists hope to convey is that, collectively, we make a large impact on the environment. Each person wrapped a thread around the installation until, one by one, the whole piece was hidden.
