The Driverless Electric Car from the Future Has Arrived

The future is now, and it comes to us in the form of the Rinspeed XchangE, an autonomous and completely electric concept car that's based on the Tesla Model S. Set to debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show beginning March 6, this incredible feat of automobile engineering pilots itself (but you can steer if you like) with ingenious interior advances that transform it into mobile office or living room. As you gaze at its sleek design, there's no question that this car is the epitome of a luxury sedan.

The XchangE has a lot of features you'd never expect as it re-imagines what the passenger experience should be. It shifts our perspective of driving from something that requires constant attention to mirroring air travel, where you simply sit back and enjoy the view. And as for relaxing, there's a plethora of ways to do so in this car, with 20 possible seat configurations in addition to tilting and swiveling options. While you're reclining leisurely, you can take in a movie on any of the four high definition screens.

While the interior is doubt impressive and makes everyone jealous, one of the best things about this car is that it uses both established and emerging technologies to make driving safer. The XchangE utilizes the Harman Infotainment System and communicates with other similar programs, intelligently linking to online data sources. Through this, it creates travel-specific cloud services like warning messages, route recommendations, or the profiles of other vehicles. Not only are you aware of your car, but it is acutely aware of what's going on around you.
