Run-Down Model Homes by Ofra Lapid

Old, dilapidated buildings are usually an unsightly scene. In this case, however, miniature broken down houses are appreciated for being wonderful works of art. The series itself is “based on photographs of abandoned structures neglected by man and destroyed by the weather,” says the website.

The photographs were taken by an amateur photographer from North Dakota who artist Ofra Lapid found on the internet. Lapid then used these photos to create incredible small scale models. Photographs were taken of the models placed on a gray background, which eliminates the original background and brings the viewers' attention to the neglect of the buildings.
