Southwest Light by Tom Lowe

Eugene first introduced us to Tom Lowe’s film in a blog post here. Now Tom has released some more of his amazing work. This beautiful short is called “Death is the Road to Awe” and is actually pre-production footage for a documentary he is preparing called Southwest Light. The music is by by Clint Mansell, from The Fountain, and the dancer is Tomas Isaac Hunt.Tom’s blog is here at Timescapes. he talks about this film and several other projects he has in work. He recently spent time at Coachella filming the people and performers there. He talks about the culture shock he felt coming out of the desert where he sits around in camping chairs and then suddenly coming back to Las Vegas and Coachella. I can definitely relate to that after my trip through the Grand Canyon last summer.I really love this piece. If the whole film is this good then it will really be something amazing. I’m looking forward to seeing more of his work.
