Canadian beauty blogger Yasaman Gheidi is using her makeup skills to spread mental health awareness with her new #InsideOutChallenge. While makeup can be fun and glamorous, Gheidi shows us a different side by using products to transform her face into a mirror for what’s within. The project came about after the 27-year-old self-taught beauty blogger left her staff Christmas party early due to an anxiety attack.
Using materials that include stone clay, epoxy putty, copper line, plastic, and resin, Japanese artist Takanori Aiba has creates this fantastical sculpture called Bonsai-B that looks like someone or something has taken residence in this bonsai tree! It should come as no surprise that Aiba has a background as a maze illustrator and an art director for architectural spaces. Using his past experiences, he’s made a modern bonsai that portrays “the beauty of spiritual accordance between human and nature in miniature.”
“Bonsai reflects the Japanese traditional aesthetic sense of expressing the magnificence of nature in a small potted plant,” he says. “However, the density of decoration and the rich stories of my works contain extraordinary times and spaces which differ from the bonsai world determined by plants physiology.”
Thanks for the tip, Tetsuya O!
