“Like going to war.” This is how one of the wrestlers in photographer Ken Hermann and art director Gem Fletcher‘s project Bökh, describes Mongolian wrestling. Shot in the grasslands of Inner Mongolia, the resulting portraits and short film pay respect to this ancient tradition. It’s a tradition that is still very much alive in the nomadic communities that account for 30% of the country’s population.
In this decade, if I had the opportunity to crash any party I wanted, it would have been Vogue Paris’ 90th anniversary party. Held at the Hotel Pozzo di Borgo, Carine Roitfeld, the Editor-in-Chief of the French edition of Vogue, hosted the masked ball that was inspired by Stanley Kubrick’s film Eyes Wide Shut.
Among the magazine’s favourite designers, performers and cover girls that came together to celebrate were Christian Louboutin, Jean Paul Gaultier, Tyra Banks, Gisele Bundchen, Kate Moss, Lara Stone (who stars on the cover of the 90th anniversary issue), Karolina Kurkova, Dita Von Teese, Craig David and Jade Jagger.
