When I Grow Up…

I want to be a rock star, a pro athlete… a butcher? I love it that shows like Top Chef, Iron America, and even Hell’s Kitchen are part of today’s water-cooler chatter. Or when personalities like Padma Lakshmi, Tyler Florence, and Guy Fieri are finding cross-over exposure outside of their food tv shows, Carl’s Jr, Applebee’s, and TGIFriday’s respectively. And when I came across this story Young Idols With Cleavers Rule the Stage it made me smile. Food culture is pop culture. BTW, how many “celebrity chefs” can you name? Or, have you ever made a trip to go see one at a live “performance”?New York Times

Anyone who has been stung by a jellyfish can attest—it’s not a pleasant experience. But Jellyfish Lake in Palau is filled with millions of jellyfish that have evolved in a way that makes it safe for humans to swim in the same waters.
