THE WEEKEND EXPERIENCE – ART+CULTURE: "Strategic Synchronicity" by Futura – Pioneer of the American Urban Art Movement

Opening Reception September 19th, 7pm-9pm: Downtown LA

Presented by Krunk, Futura's "Strategic Synchronicity" show will be his first ever LA solo exhibition and will be open to the public from September 19th through 21st from 11am-6pm, with a public reception on the 19th from 7pm-9pm. Leonard McGurr aka Futura is an internationally acclaimed graffiti artist who started painting illegally on New York's subways in the early seventies and is now labeled a pioneer of the American urban art movement. When questioned about his choice of a West Coast venue for this landmark show, Futura explains, "LA was an obvious destination for me to showcase this collection. The city has so many incredible creatives who I consider as friends and whose work I respect enormously. I consider this collection my best work yet. When I started on it I could feel myself about to explode. After all these years of development, it reflects my growth and evolution. I want this work considered on its merits, and in that sense, I'm going right back to the beginning.” Paintings and drawings will range from $1,500 up to $100,000K+.
