Presented by Krunk, Futura’s “Strategic Synchronicity” show will be his first ever LA solo exhibition and will be open to the public from September 19th through 21st from 11am-6pm, with a public reception on the 19th from 7pm-9pm. Leonard McGurr aka Futura is an internationally acclaimed graffiti artist who started painting illegally on New York’s subways in the early seventies and is now labeled a pioneer of the American urban art movement. When questioned about his choice of a West Coast venue for this landmark show, Futura explains, “LA was an obvious destination for me to showcase this collection. The city has so many incredible creatives who I consider as friends and whose work I respect enormously. I consider this collection my best work yet. When I started on it I could feel myself about to explode. After all these years of development, it reflects my growth and evolution. I want this work considered on its merits, and in that sense, I’m going right back to the beginning.” Paintings and drawings will range from $1,500 up to $100,000K+.
