On the final day of the fair, Hernández will participate in an intimate conversation with Drew Beattie, Director of the Kossak Painting Program and Distinguished Lecturer at Hunter College. From 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm they'll dive into a wide range of topics covering her work and how social and political meanings mix with visual making.

This is just one of several events that also place a focus on learning. A new series of Lunch Time Talks are meant to spark engaging conversation about art, design, and architecture. Geared toward creatives, the conversations are organized by online inclusive arts magazine Crea in conjunction with BAD (Black Artists + Design Guild) and will explore mission-driven topics, as well as constructive, hands-on advice over the course of 45 minutes. The Affordable Art Fair NYC Spring Edition is also making it easier than ever to expose the whole family to art. New this spring are Stroller Hours, which will give parents dedicated time to expose their kids to contemporary art and enjoy the fair as a family. On the Saturday and Sunday of the fair, doors will open early (from 10 am to 11 am) for families to enjoy the art without the crowds.
