New Speeding Through NYC Oil Paintings by Alexandra Pacula

Artist Alexandra Pacula has just released a new set of work for a solo show at Might Tanaka Gallery in Brooklyn, New York. Called “veloCity,” the exhibition consists of both paintings and drawings that show love to one of the greatest metropolises in the world. In her oil paintings, New York City is shown whizzing by, a beautiful mixture of blurred lines that represent the sparkling lights on the city's buildings, cars and bridges.

As the gallery states, “veloCity is Alexandra Pacula's most recent body of Abstract Photo Realist art work, as she explores new techniques that convey an ever changing perspective. Capturing the city in all its regal elegance, Alexandra Pacula locks the viewer into a certain time and place, forging all the elements into a cohesive interpretation of the urban landscape. Her conceptually sound approach creates the perfect context in which she is able to play with a variety of effects and to bring forth her unique vision of the world around her.

“Forever paying homage to the City That Never Sleeps, Alexandra Pacula embraces the versatility that only this city provides.”

“veloCity” runs until December 6, 2013.
