Who says that landscape and profile portraits are mutually exclusive? Photographer and graphic designer Aritz Bermudez combines the two forms of photography to produce visually intriguing and delightful dual landscape portraits while featuring the profile of children in his series titled Silhouette Landscapes. The series, which initially began with silhouettes of “famous vintage ladies” has expanded to include the profiles of young boys.
The basic structure of each picture is a beautiful landscape as a backdrop with the extraction of a second image in the form of his subject's silhouette. Using his own photographic captures of stunning stretches of land and vast expanses of oceans, Bermudez showcases not only two shots from his engaging portfolio as a photographer but also his design aesthetic and a keen eye for complementary juxtaposition, all within one image.
Bermudez is now seeking to develop his personal project, first featured on his site CreativeFarm, into a digital book. The multifaceted artist has started a campaign to raise funds for his project whose goal is to reach $5,000. The campaign has a list of great perks that include getting your own custom-made silhouette landscape portrait by submitting your own profile picture. You have until September 9th to contribute and aid in funding the project on Indiegogo.
