Artist Spotlight: James Jean Showing at Jonathan Levine Gallery NYC Jan 10-Feb 7

James Jean is a Taiwanese-American award winning artist and illustrator who lives in Los Angeles. Educated at the School of Visual Arts in New York, Jonathan lived in Manhattan and Brooklyn before moving to Los Angeles in 2003. James works evoke an unique mix of art historical and modern design references that play out beautifully. You may recognize the commercial work he's done for the Prada fairy bag that we blogged about back in July or you may recognize his work for Target, Spin or Playboy. You may even recognize his style if you read comic books. As an acclaimed cover artist for DC Comics, James Jean has worked on such titles as Fables, Batgirl, Green Arrow, and Monolith. Starting this weekend those visiting the Jonathan Levine Gallery can see his works live. For those of you in New York, this ones for you! Jonathan Levine Gallery 529 West 20th Street, 9E New York, NY 10011 ph:212-243-3822 Open Tuesday through Saturday, 11am to 6pm And for those of us who can't make it out there, here are some of James Jean's works we can all enjoy.
