Futuristic Magnetic Dumbbell Concept

What is the worst part of weight training? Some might argue that it is the weights themselves. However, traditional dumbbells may soon become a thing of the past. The future is now molded by the concept of electromagnetism or so says the O2 Magnetic Dumbbell. The two small rings worn by the user above and below the elbow are powered by embedded electromagnets that provide a push and pull resistance.

London’s Famous "Gherkin" Receives 10 Year Performance Award

If you've ever travelled to London, you've no doubt seen the famous Swiss Re Headquarters designed by Norma Foster, otherwise deemed, “The Gherkin.” The building has become an iconic part of London's skyline and is one of the city's many landmarks. That is why the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat's (or CTBUH) has bestowed the Gherkin with their first 10-year award.

Modern Museum Embedded in Italy’s Mountains

World-renowned architect Zaha Hadid has been in the news so much lately with all her current and future projects…and for good reason! Her firm has just released another amazing design for one of their newest commissions – the Messner Mountain Museum at Plan de Corones in Italy. Hadid was chosen as the final designer for this series of mountaintop museums and her concept aims to become one with nature in the Mount Kronplatz region.

Zaha Hadid’s Fluid New Cultural Center For Azerbaijan

Created by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid, the highly anticipated Heydar Aliyev cultural center in Baku, Azerbaijan is nearly complete and set to open in September 2013. The project was started in 2007 with hopes of becoming a landmark and source of beauty for the city of Baku. The multipurpose building will house a library, museum, conference rooms, small galleries, and act as a hub for Azerbaijani culture.
