Jessica Stewart

Jessica Stewart is a Staff Editor and Digital Media Specialist for My Modern Met, as well as a curator and art historian. Since 2020, she is also one of the co-hosts of the My Modern Met Top Artist Podcast. She earned her MA in Renaissance Studies from University College London and now lives in Rome, Italy. She cultivated expertise in street art which led to the purchase of her photographic archive by the Treccani Italian Encyclopedia in 2014. When she’s not spending time with her three dogs, she also manages the studio of a successful street artist. In 2013, she authored the book "Street Art Stories Roma" and most recently contributed to "Crossroads: A Glimpse Into the Life of Alice Pasquini." Hera, one half of the acclaimed street art duo Herakut, has painted a new collection featuring her surreal, wide-eyed portraits. Annie Leibovitz and Lisa Saltzman Launch Inaugural Photography Prize Celebrating Emerging Photography Talent

Acclaimed photographer Annie Leibovitz has launched a new photography prize to promote emerging talent. Organized in collaboration with philanthropist and photographer Lisa Saltzman, the Saltzman-Leibovitz Photography Prize has just announced the six international photographers who have been shortlisted for their talent and visual storytelling abilities. The photographers, who hail from Ukraine, Nigeria, Romania, the Netherlands, the United States, and France, will have the opportunity to win a share of the $20,000 prize fund.

Clever Photo of a Badger Musing Over Its Likeness Wins Wildlife Photographer of the Year People’s Choice Award

A clever photo of a badger looking at a piece of badger graffiti won Ian Wood the People's Choice Award at the 2024 Wildlife Photographer of the Year contest. Wood beat out 25 finalists with a record number of votes in a contest that saw over 76,000 people cast their votes. Wood captured the moment after observing badgers eating food scraps locals had set out.
