Be Water, My Friend

Incorporating Photoshop with watercolors, mixed media artist Jim Hsieh created this wonderful tribute to Bruce Lee for the Nature of Water art show thrown by Gallery Nucleus a few years back. According to his website, Hsieh's exposure to both Eastern and Western culture enables him to combine the best features of both.

The piece and exhibit reminds me of Lee's legendary quote: “Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless – like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup; You put water into a bottle it becomes the bottle; You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.”
