You Can Book Official Bob Ross Painting Workshops Through Airbnb

Airbnb is not only a platform for reserving accommodations—you can also book unique experiences hosted by locals. It’s an opportunity for visitors to veer off the tourist track and get a real sense of the place they’re visiting, but it also gives locals the chance to share their skills and knowledge of their craft.

From cooking classes to photography workshops, there are countless AirBnb experiences to choose from all over the world. But avid Bob Ross fans are particularly spoiled for choice—Airbnb Experiences now includes live painting classes inspired by the celebrated TV art instructor, and they’re hosted globally!

From New York City to Schifferstadt in Germany, each Bob Ross painting workshop is led by a Certified Ross Instructor (or CRI). Every art teacher has to go through 3 weeks of training, where they learn tips for teaching Bob Ross’ famous “wet-on-wet” painting technique. All classes are catered to beginners and taught using official Bob Ross paints and brushes. And you’ll even walk away with your very own landscape painting, complete with “happy trees” and “pretty little mountains.”

One Oregon-based teacher called True says, “My favorite thing about teaching is proving to someone who has never picked up a paint brush, that they too, can complete an entire painting of ‘happy trees’ in one day! Seeing the joy on my students' faces by the end of class is always a treat!”

If you can’t find a Bob Ross painting class in your hometown or holiday destination, you can still find all 31 seasons of The Joy of Painting on the Bob Ross YouTube channel.
