De hecho, el trabajo m&aacute;s reciente de la artista, que <a href=\"https:\/\/www.russoleegallery.com\/exhibitions\/jo-hamilton4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">se exhibi&oacute;<\/a> en noviembre pasado, se basa en la tensa relaci&oacute;n de la humanidad con el <a href=\"https:\/\/mymodernmet.com\/es\/formas-ayudar-ambiente\/\">medio ambiente<\/a> y el impacto devastador que est&aacute; teniendo en nuestro planeta.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;<em>Transitory Trespass<\/em> trata sobre mis sentimientos en relaci&oacute;n a c&oacute;mo la raza humana interact&uacute;a con el mundo natural, idealiz&aacute;ndolo y destruy&eacute;ndolo simult&aacute;neamente con demasiadas cosas creadas por el hombre&rdquo;, Hamilton le dice a My Modern Met. &ldquo;En mi preocupaci&oacute;n (y ligera obsesi&oacute;n) por la crisis clim&aacute;tica y la contaminaci&oacute;n pl&aacute;stica, tambi&eacute;n comenc&eacute; a reciclar la mayor cantidad posible de desechos pl&aacute;sticos de mi propio hogar con el<em> plarn<\/em> que uso en mi trabajo&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p><i>Plarn<\/i> une las palabras <em>plastic<\/em> (&#8220;pl&aacute;stico&#8221;) y <em>yarn<\/em> (&#8220;estambre&#8221;) y hace referencia al estambre pl&aacute;stico hecho de materiales desechables, como bolsas de supermercado y otros productos de desechos pl&aacute;sticos comunes. Hamilton hace su propio material cortando las asas y la base de las bolsas de pl&aacute;stico y luego cort&aacute;ndolas en ondas que luego se anudan para hacer hebras de &#8220;estambre&#8221; de dos capas. La artista ha utilizado de todo, desde bolsas de comida congelada hasta envases de papel higi&eacute;nico, para crear los materiales de sus obras maestras de crochet. Hamilton se comprometi&oacute; hace a&ntilde;os a dejar de comprar estambre nuevo por la contaminaci&oacute;n que genera durante su proceso de fabricaci&oacute;n y el impacto negativo que tiene en el medio ambiente. En cambio, solo usa su <em>plarn<\/em> hecho en casa y cualquier estambre regular que pueda encontrar de segunda mano.<\/p>\n<p>Esto agrega otra dimensi&oacute;n a su trabajo, que va m&aacute;s all&aacute; de simplemente hacer un comentario sobre estos temas para convertirse en parte de la soluci&oacute;n. La primera obra de arte tejida a crochet de Hamilton, <em>I Crochet Portland<\/em>, le llev&oacute; m&aacute;s de dos a&ntilde;os de trabajo, junto con su primera serie de retratos hechos a crochet. En &uacute;ltima instancia, cada puntada tiene un prop&oacute;sito m&aacute;s amplio: hacer que la gente piense y reeval&uacute;e el impacto que nuestras vidas y h&aacute;bitos cotidianos est&aacute;n teniendo en el mundo que nos rodea.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Espero que los sujetos y los materiales nos ayuden a reconsiderar nuestra relaci&oacute;n tanto con el mundo artificial como con el natural, y que seamos capaces de retroceder desde el punto de inflexi&oacute;n que se acerca r&aacute;pidamente en el que las cosas desechables hechas por el hombre de la obsolescencia planificada extinguir&aacute;n al mundo natural y a nosotros para siempre&rdquo;, dice Hamilton. &ldquo;Espero que mi propia forma de trabajar, muy lenta, en oposici&oacute;n al ritmo vertiginoso de la vida moderna, pueda animarnos a reducir la velocidad, apreciar lo que tenemos y aliviar el hambre de m&aacute;s cosas&rdquo;.<\/p>\n<p>Ve m&aacute;s im&aacute;genes de las obras de arte tejidas de Hamilton a continuaci&oacute;n.
