Aunque cada persona envejece de forma diferente, varios estudios cient&iacute;ficos han demostrado que el <a href=\"https:\/\/mymodernmet.com\/es\/estudio-metabolismo-lento\/\">metabolismo<\/a> no empeora dr&aacute;sticamente hasta despu&eacute;s de los 60 a&ntilde;os. Ahora, un estudio realizado por psic&oacute;logos de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-heidelberg.de\/en\/newsroom\/mental-speed-hardly-changes-over-a-lifespan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universidad de Heidelberg<\/a> y publicado en <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41562-021-01282-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nature Human Behaviour<\/a><\/em> sugiere que la velocidad de procesamiento cognitivo del celebro tambi&eacute;n se mantiene hasta los 60 a&ntilde;os aproximadamente.<\/p>\n<p>Antes se pensaba que el procesamiento cognitivo alcanzaba su punto m&aacute;ximo a los 20 a&ntilde;os. Para investigar su relaci&oacute;n con el envejecimiento, los autores del estudio reevaluaron los datos existentes de m&aacute;s de un mill&oacute;n de sujetos en un estudio estadounidense previo. En &eacute;l, a los sujetos que respondieran a tareas en l&iacute;nea dise&ntilde;adas para medir el sesgo impl&iacute;cito. Sin embargo, este tema no era relevante para el estudio de agudeza mental. En su lugar, los investigadores analizaron la rapidez con la que los sujetos pensaban y respond&iacute;an a las indicaciones.<\/p>\n<p>Al controlar las variaciones individuales, el equipo descubri&oacute; que la velocidad de procesamiento de la informaci&oacute;n cognitiva se mantiene en gran medida estable hasta que una persona pasa de los 60 a&ntilde;os, tras lo cual disminuye con la edad. Aunque los individuos de m&aacute;s edad dentro de ese rango a menudo tardaban m&aacute;s en responder a las preguntas, el equipo determin&oacute; que esto se deb&iacute;a m&aacute;s a un aumento de los niveles de precauci&oacute;n en la toma de decisiones que a la rapidez mental.
