Extraordinary Aurora Landscape Photography

Despite trying to learn what an aurora is scientifically defined as, I've come to the conclusion that it's a naturally beautiful, multi-hued light show in the sky. Photographer Hisashi Noboru Sakamoto, who also goes by Nori Sakamoto, has mastered the art of capturing these illuminated night skies that look like an astronomer's dream come true.

The Tokyo native's portfolio boasts a wide variety of landscapes and night skies filled with lively colors. It feels like walking into a science fictional universe. Sakamoto really shines a light on the unmanufactured beauty of our world. It is through the dedicated photographer's efforts, camping out in arctic temperatures, that such extraordinary imagery is documented. He is currently trekking through the Northwest territories of Canada, continuing to photograph our mesmerizing atmosphere. In addition to his radiant aurora images, Sakamoto also has a fantastic selection of landscape and wildlife photography that is worth checking out.
