Famous Guns Presented in Minimalist Style

We couldn't resist one more project by Federico Mauro, the talented artist who compiles famous items from pop culture and gives them minimalist flair. We've all seen the many exciting TV and movie scenes where cowboys and pirates and cops (oh my!) quickly draw their weapons from their holsters. Just yesterday, Mauro released this series entitled Famous Guns.

This time, the Italian artist introduces his viewers to all sorts of machinery from a basic pistol to a variety of fictional weapons like a Star Trek phaser and the Ghostbusters proton pack. The intriguing series serves as a visual reminder of many historic moments (both real and fake) and also highlights the detailed imagination of writers and prop departments who developed some incredibly inventive ammunition.

Mauro spends his time researching his projects in order to document the selection of items. By isolating the objects, the artist invites his viewers to ponder the personalities and to speculate about the reasoning behind the selection of each particular weapon.
