Aujourd'hui plus que jamais, les architectes et les designers sont invités à réfléchir à l'effet qu'aura leur travail sur la planète. Comment lutter contre le changement climatique et à quoi ressemblera le monde si nous n'agissons pas? W-LAB<\/a> a publié un design conceptuel qui imagine à quoi ressemblerait l'architecture d'un monde post-changement climatique.<\/p>\n

La proposition de W-LAB comprend une série de biocabines dans un habitat désertique autosuffisant. Les maisons sont organisées autour d'une étendue d'eau centrale, et sont entourées de plantes soigneusement choisies pour survivre dans des conditions désertiques. À l'échelle du bâtiment, la forme de chaque cabine a été soigneusement planifiée pour s'adapter au mieux à l'environnement – des facteurs tels que le vent, l'érosion du sol et le besoin d'absorption acoustique pour les voisins proches ont tous défini la forme des bio-cabines.<\/span><\/p>\n

Entre les cabines, des structures tendues fournissent de l'ombre et abritent du soleil intense tandis que les panneaux solaires utilisent cette ressource naturelle pour produire de l'énergie pour la communauté. Le vent est également une source importante d'énergie renouvelable que les designers pensent que cet habitat pourrait exploiter. En utilisant à la fois l'énergie solaire et éolienne, l'habitat pourrait être complètement autonome et n'aurait pas besoin d'être connecté à des réseaux électriques généraux. Les jardins intérieurs sont une autre ressource qui serait utilisée pour soutenir la communauté, soit comme source de nourriture ou comme moyen d'améliorer la vie quotidienne.<\/span><\/p>\n

W-LAB a considéré l'impact environnemental initial de la construction de ce type de communauté, et a donc prévu des matériaux faciles d'accès dans un environnement désertique. L'agave est un excellent exemple de matière organique qui peut être cultivée et utilisée de manière durable. Les designers ont aussi prévu un plan flexible afin que les matériaux recyclés puissent être utilisés pendant la construction, si disponibles.<\/span><\/p>\n
