La r&egrave;gle d'interr&egrave;gne &eacute;tait profond&eacute;ment puritaine et ancr&eacute;e dans la philosophie religieuse. Au dire de tous, Newton avait une vie de famille difficile et &eacute;tait g&eacute;n&eacute;ralement malheureux. Il montra tr&egrave;s t&ocirc;t un talent pour les math&eacute;matiques et en 1661, il entra au Trinity College de Cambridge. Le livre en trois volumes a &eacute;galement introduit trois lois du mouvement. La premi&egrave;re est qu'un objet en mouvement restera en mouvement &agrave; la m&ecirc;me vitesse &agrave; moins qu'il n'agisse sur une force ext&eacute;rieure. La seconde d&eacute;crit une &eacute;quation importante : la force est &eacute;gale &agrave; la masse multipli&eacute;e par l'acc&eacute;l&eacute;ration. Alors qu'il &eacute;tait professeur &agrave; Cambridge, il a &eacute;tudi&eacute; la lumi&egrave;re r&eacute;fract&eacute;e &agrave; travers un prisme qui, comme sur la pochette de l'album Pink Floyd, divise la lumi&egrave;re blanche en ses couleurs composantes. Il s'est rendu compte que le spectre des couleurs est intrins&egrave;que aux diff&eacute;rents rayons de lumi&egrave;re. La lumi&egrave;re conserve sa couleur peu importe o&ugrave; elle brille. Les faisceaux peuvent &eacute;galement &ecirc;tre ramen&eacute;s en un seul faisceau de lumi&egrave;re blanche &agrave; l'aide d'un autre prisme. Newton croyait &eacute;galement que la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.history.com\/topics\/inventions\/isaac-newton\">lumi&egrave;re &eacute;tait compos&eacute;e de particules<\/a> &#8211; une opinion que son c&eacute;l&egrave;bre coll&egrave;gue scientifique Robert Hooke a rejet&eacute; avec v&eacute;h&eacute;mence en faveur d'une th&eacute;orie des ondes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&Agrave; l'&eacute;poque, les premiers t&eacute;lescopes utilisaient des lentilles de r&eacute;fraction pour agrandir un champ de vision. Newton &eacute;tait <a href=\"https:\/\/mathshistory.st-andrews.ac.uk\/Biographies\/Newton\/\">pr&eacute;occup&eacute; par les aberrations chromatiques<\/a> dues aux prismes r&eacute;fractant la lumi&egrave;re. En cons&eacute;quence, il a commenc&eacute; &agrave; d&eacute;velopper un t&eacute;lescope &agrave; r&eacute;flexion qui utilisait des miroirs pour agrandir une image. Il fabriqua son premier t&eacute;lescope en 1668. En 1671, il montra sa derni&egrave;re version &agrave; la Royal Society of London, dont il devint bient&ocirc;t membre. La r&eacute;ponse est nettement moins de gens que ceux qui connaissent le nom de Newton. Ceci est largement d&ucirc; &agrave; la renomm&eacute;e de Newton dans d'autres domaines. Cependant, le nom de l'autre fondateur du calcul est entr&eacute; dans l'histoire pour ses tensions acad&eacute;miques avec le physicien anglais. Le calcul est essentiellement l'&eacute;tude des courbes en d&eacute;terminant l'aire sous elles ou leurs pentes. L'Allemand Leibniz a publi&eacute; ses travaux sur les courbes avant Newton. Eh bien, selon Newton, c&rsquo;&eacute;tait lui.
