Alors que des fouilles sont en cours sur le site depuis le XVIIIe si&egrave;cle, une grande partie de la ville reste enfouie. De 2019 &agrave; 2020, les arch&eacute;ologues ont d&eacute;couvert et fouill&eacute; un superbe thermopolium, un type de stand de plats chauds ou de &laquo; fast-food &raquo; qui &eacute;tait courant &agrave; l'&eacute;poque romaine. Ce site, d&eacute;cor&eacute; de fresques bien conserv&eacute;es, est d&eacute;sormais accessible au public.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Officiellement connue sous le nom de <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/pompeiisites.org\/en\/press-releases\/from-the-12th-august-the-thermopolium-of-regio-v-is-opening-to-the-public\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thermopolium de Regio V<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, cette entreprise de plats chauds &eacute;tait l'une des quelque 80 entreprises connues de Pomp&eacute;i. Les classes inf&eacute;rieures et moyennes achetaient et mangeaient souvent des repas pr&eacute;par&eacute;s &agrave; l'ext&eacute;rieur de leur domicile. Le thermopolium pr&eacute;sente un comptoir en ma&ccedil;onnerie incrust&eacute; de <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">dolia<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, des pots en c&eacute;ramique contenant la vaisselle &agrave; vendre. Ceux-ci comprenaient du canard colvert, du coq, des f&egrave;ves et d'autres aliments romains courants. Le vin, bien s&ucirc;r, &eacute;tait &eacute;galement au menu.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alors que de tels stands de plats chauds &eacute;taient courants, le Thermopolium de Regio V se distingue, m&ecirc;me &agrave; Pomp&eacute;i, par ses fresques incroyablement bien conserv&eacute;es. Ces peintures ont &eacute;t&eacute; appliqu&eacute;es sur du pl&acirc;tre humide. Leurs repr&eacute;sentations jaune vif et habiles de volaille et de feuillage ont remarquablement bien &eacute;t&eacute; conserv&eacute;. Cette d&eacute;coration appropri&eacute;e pour un lieu de restauration pourrait rappeler au spectateur un restaurant moderne. Pour pr&eacute;parer le site nouvellement excav&eacute; pour le public, un nouveau toit en bois a &eacute;t&eacute; install&eacute; dans un style ancien pour prot&eacute;ger le comptoir ci-dessous.
