Ayant grandi sur la c&ocirc;te australienne, les vagues &eacute;taient omnipr&eacute;sentes, une constante depuis son enfance jusqu'&agrave; l'&acirc;ge adulte. La relation a &eacute;t&eacute; intensifi&eacute;e par sa d&eacute;votion au surf dans son adolescence. En tant qu'&eacute;tudiant cr&eacute;atif, il est tomb&eacute; amoureux de la photographie et voulait photographier les vagues, mais ne savait pas trop comment s&rsquo;y prendre. Une fois qu'il est devenu directeur artistique pour un magazine de surf et qu'il a achet&eacute; l'&eacute;quipement appropri&eacute; pour filmer sous l'eau, il a commenc&eacute; &agrave; explorer l'oc&eacute;an d&rsquo;une toute nouvelle mani&egrave;re.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Shadbolt est habile pour transmettre l'immensit&eacute; de l'oc&eacute;an tout en mettant en valeur ses d&eacute;tails les plus fins et dramatiques. Ses compositions les plus frappantes mettent en sc&egrave;ne des vagues g&eacute;antes o&ugrave; les courants forment des calottes blanches et produisent des eaux mousseuses n&eacute;es d'une immense puissance. C'est ici, dans ces plans fixes fascinants, que nous voyons les&nbsp; &lsquo;veines&rsquo; d'une vague, qu'elles fusent vers une cr&ecirc;te ou s'inclinent dans un moment de calme relatif. Cela fait partie du tissu de votre jeunesse, vous apprenez &agrave; le comprendre et &agrave; le respecter d&egrave;s le plus jeune &acirc;ge. Je ne sais pas si c'est juste moi, mais j'ai l'impression que, pour tous ceux qui ont grandi avec l'oc&eacute;an comme terrain de jeu, il y a un appel tacite qui a lieu. Cela peut &ecirc;tre tous les jours, ou peut-&ecirc;tre une fois par mois ou m&ecirc;me moins, mais finalement, vous devez retourner &agrave; l'oc&eacute;an pour vous ressourcer. Surtout s'il y a une grosse houle, il y a juste une &eacute;nergie qui vous ram&egrave;ne en arri&egrave;re et d&eacute;tourne votre attention de toute autre chose.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Qu'est-ce qui vous a inspir&eacute; pour commencer &agrave; prendre des photos de vagues ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Quand j'&eacute;tais plus jeune, je dessinais et peignais toujours, mais &agrave; l'adolescence, le surf est devenu presque une d&eacute;pendance. Un peu plus tard, lors de ma premi&egrave;re ann&eacute;e d'universit&eacute; en licence d'art, je ne savais toujours pas ce que je voulais faire de ma vie, mais l'un des cours que j'ai suivi &eacute;tait la photographie et j'ai vraiment ador&eacute;. J'ai fini par passer &agrave; un dipl&ocirc;me en communication visuelle et cela impliquait beaucoup de photographie. J'avais toujours voulu me lancer dans la photographie de surf mais je ne savais pas vraiment par o&ugrave; commencer, ni si c'&eacute;tait une carri&egrave;re viable. C'est un peu comme un bouton de r&eacute;initialisation ou une forme de m&eacute;ditation. Je me sens tr&egrave;s privil&eacute;gi&eacute; de faire l'exp&eacute;rience de ces extr&eacute;mit&eacute;s de la nature, il s'agit vraiment de l'exp&eacute;rience plus que tout, les photos qui en r&eacute;sultent ne sont toujours qu'un simulacre.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Partez-vous avec un plan de ce que vous aimeriez photographier&nbsp;? Ou, en fonction des conditions de l'eau &agrave; ce moment-l&agrave;, devez-vous &ecirc;tre spontan&eacute; dans vos compositions ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">J'ai tendance &agrave; aller &agrave; un endroit sp&eacute;cifique avec un concept en t&ecirc;te, mais avec une telle d&eacute;pendance &agrave; la nature qui joue son r&ocirc;le, les conditions d&eacute;terminent finalement la direction finale. Je m'int&eacute;resse &agrave; la fa&ccedil;on dont la technologie peut &eacute;largir davantage notre compr&eacute;hension ou notre exp&eacute;rience de la r&eacute;alit&eacute;, et pouvoir avoir acc&egrave;s &agrave; de nouveaux &eacute;quipements qui offrent de nouvelles perspectives est quelque chose que j'explore en ce moment. En ce qui concerne l'appareil photo que j'utilise, je photographie sur quelques appareils diff&eacute;rents, du num&eacute;rique et du film en fonction du projet, mais pour la majorit&eacute; de ce que je photographie j&rsquo;utilise le <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2PhwF4P\" rel=\"nofollow\">Nikon D850<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Quel type d'&eacute;quipement sp&eacute;cial utilisez-vous pour photographier dans\/autour de l'eau&nbsp;?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pour les &eacute;quipements sous-marins et de protection, j'utilise les caissons sous-marins et les protections contre les intemp&eacute;ries AquaTech depuis plus de 10 ans maintenant et je ne peux que les recommander davantage. J'ai l'impression que tout ce qui explore l'oc&eacute;an, ou m&ecirc;me simplement l'eau, en g&eacute;n&eacute;ral, examinera la dualit&eacute; et l'&eacute;quilibre comme th&egrave;me central. L'eau obscurcit et nettoie, selon votre point de vue. Il s'agit vraiment de comprendre que la nature est une repr&eacute;sentation et un reflet de la vie. Les absolus sont rares dans la nature, et &ecirc;tre capable d'appr&eacute;cier et de comprendre plusieurs perspectives est ce qui vous permet d'apprendre et de progresser et j'essaie de regarder ce que je photographie &agrave; travers ce m&ecirc;me objectif.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Vous capturez des clich&eacute;s extr&ecirc;mes. Quel est le plus aventureux que vous ayez eu lors d'une s&eacute;ance de photographie ?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Un r&eacute;cent voyage aux &icirc;les d'Aran &eacute;tait peut-&ecirc;tre le plus aventureux; photographier du haut de falaises abruptes de 45 m&egrave;tres avec des rafales de vent &agrave; 90 km\/h et des pluies torrentielles &eacute;tait assez intimidant. Le faire en solo n'&eacute;tait peut-&ecirc;tre pas la meilleure des id&eacute;es. Cela ne semble jamais aussi aventureux sur le moment jusqu'&agrave; ce que vous regardiez en arri&egrave;re avec du recul. Encore une fois, tout est une question de point de vue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Qu'est-ce que l'avenir vous r&eacute;serve ? Je suis tr&egrave;s heureux de fonder une famille. Je travaille actuellement &agrave; une exposition &agrave; Sydney &agrave; la galerie Michael Reid pr&eacute;vue pour plus tard cette ann&eacute;e, ainsi qu'&agrave; une exposition de groupe &agrave; la Gosford Regional Gallery en d&eacute;cembre.
