Ses peintures abstraites en rouge, jaune et bleu s'appuient sur les lignes et la g&eacute;om&eacute;trie qui a fait fureur et sont loin de la sc&egrave;ne artistique n&eacute;erlandaise conservatrice dans laquelle il a grandi. Alors, qu'est-ce qui a pouss&eacute; Mondrian &agrave; briser la conformit&eacute; et &agrave; bouleverser le monde de l'art ?<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Qui &eacute;tait Piet Mondrian ?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">N&eacute; en 1872, Mondrian a v&eacute;cu d'incroyables avanc&eacute;es technologiques et l'aube de deux guerres mondiales. Curieux et intelligent, il n'avait pas peur de sortir de sa zone de confort. Beaucoup de gens qui ne connaissent que ses &oelig;uvres abstraites ult&eacute;rieures sont surpris de savoir que les origines de Mondrian se trouvent dans l'art classique et <a href=\"https:\/\/mymodernmet.com\/what-is-realism-art-definition\/\">r&eacute;aliste<\/a>. Comme tout bon artiste hollandais de l'&eacute;poque, il peignait souvent des paysages. Mais m&ecirc;me &agrave; travers cela, il a apport&eacute; sa propre touche au format traditionnel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Benno Tempel, directeur du Gemeentemuseum, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1x8m-7N-Kjo\">souligne<\/a> que Mondrian n'a pas suivi les r&egrave;gles d'une ligne d'horizon basse et d'un ciel dominant qui &eacute;taient la norme depuis le XVIIe si&egrave;cle. Au lieu de cela, il a hardiment d&eacute;coup&eacute; la toile &agrave; sa guise, remplissant souvent toute l'image de terre et ne laissant qu'un petit &eacute;clat de ciel. Par exemple, Mondrian &eacute;tait parfaitement conscient que le centre du monde de l'art s'&eacute;tait d&eacute;plac&eacute; vers Paris au d&eacute;but du XXe si&egrave;cle. Des artistes audacieux comme Pablo Picasso et Georges Braque &eacute;taient d&eacute;j&agrave; l&agrave;-bas posant les <a href=\"https:\/\/mymodernmet.com\/what-is-cubism-art\/\">bases du cubisme<\/a>, et Mondrian voulait en faire partie. Leur influence appara&icirc;t dans son travail, qui s'oriente de plus en plus vers l'abstraction.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Le passage de Mondrian &agrave; l'art abstrait<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lorsque la Premi&egrave;re Guerre mondiale a &eacute;clat&eacute;, Mondrian &eacute;tait en visite aux Pays-Bas et a &eacute;t&eacute; contraint d'attendre la fin de la guerre dans son pays d'origine. Mais son retour n'a pas frein&eacute; son esprit d'innovation. Il a &eacute;lu domicile dans une colonie d'artistes en Hollande du Nord, o&ugrave; il s'est li&eacute; avec les libres penseurs Bart van der Leck et Theo van Doesburg. Van der Leck n'utilisait que des couleurs primaires dans son travail, et cela a eu un impact imm&eacute;diat sur Mondrian. Ce qui peut sembler al&eacute;atoire pour un &oelig;il non averti &eacute;tait en fait l'aboutissement d'ann&eacute;es d'entra&icirc;nement. Mondrian a utilis&eacute; les m&ecirc;mes r&egrave;gles de composition que ses premiers paysages et natures mortes pour &eacute;quilibrer ces &oelig;uvres abstraites r&eacute;volutionnaires, ce qui fait partie de ce qui les rend si agr&eacute;ables sur le plan esth&eacute;tique.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En effet, les paysages et la nature n'&eacute;taient jamais loin dans l'esprit de Mondrian. Bien au contraire, ils ont profond&eacute;ment influenc&eacute; ses peintures abstraites. Sa lettre au critique d'art et peintre hollandais H.P. Bremmer en 1914 r&eacute;sume sa pens&eacute;e : &ldquo;Je construis des lignes et des combinaisons de couleurs sur une surface plane, afin d'exprimer la beaut&eacute; g&eacute;n&eacute;rale avec la plus grande conscience. Ses derniers tableaux <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Broadway Boogie-Woogie<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> et <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Victory Boogie Woogie<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, ont &eacute;t&eacute; influenc&eacute;s par la musique jazz am&eacute;ricaine et les n&eacute;ons de Manhattan. Dans les deux cas, les lignes noires disparaissent et les blocs de couleurs vives fusionnent pour cr&eacute;er les lignes traversantes de la composition.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>H&eacute;ritage artistique<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Longtemps apr&egrave;s sa mort en 1944, Mondrian a continu&eacute; &agrave; influencer les artistes &agrave; travers diff&eacute;rents m&eacute;diums. Dans les ann&eacute;es 1960, la collection de robes Mondrian d'Yves Saint Laurent a connu un &eacute;norme succ&egrave;s, faisant m&ecirc;me la couverture de <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vogue<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Son influence durable sur la mode se poursuit sur les podiums du monde entier, o&ugrave; les blocs de couleurs trouvent souvent leurs racines dans son travail. Mais sa port&eacute;e touche aussi l'architecture. Le conseil municipal de La Haye est d&eacute;cor&eacute; de blocs de couleurs primaires de style Mondrian, et les maisons du monde entier peignent des hommages fantaisistes &agrave; ses peintures.
