Futuristic Sci-Fi 2012 Calendar

Can you believe we're already three days into the new year? You may have already purchased your calendar for 2012, but check out this year's limited edition Splash calendar conceptualized and shot by photographer Tejal Patni. The creative force introduced a Tim Burton-inspired calendar last year and is back with an entirely new theme influenced by futuristic b-movies.

The out-of-this-world fashion and landscapes pop with color in Patni's freaky, futuristic fashion photography. The set design, costuming, and make up work in unison to form the science-fictional atmosphere. The automaton props also aid the models in the photographs' effectiveness. A wistful model stands by her metallic stallion whose construction reinforces the environment's ambience. Other scene-enhancing robotic animals include a bear-bot being wheeled around in what appears to be an indestructible shopping cart and a robo-pup being walked on alien grounds.

Personally, I happen to love stoic futuristic scenes guided by outlandish sci-fi flicks. The fact that these fashionable Stepford wives are accompanied by robotic creatures only heightens the quality of the series. This year may have just begun, but I can't wait to see what Patni comes up with for 2013!
