Take a look at this large and beautiful piece currently on display at the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA)! The suspended ocean goddess, entitled Thalassa, is the newest installation from street artist Swoon.
Just as stunning -if not more- than her piece for the Art in the Streets exhibition at the MOCA, this installation is made from a combination of wood and paper. Its layered tentacles of scavenged materials stretching to the NOMA's mezzanine.
Thalassa was inspired by the Deepwater Horizon oil disaster, and she will be on display until September 25th.
