Elegantly Defying Gravity and Finding Balance

Minnesota-based photographer Karrah Kobus has compiled a vast portfolio offering a wide range of content from the surreal to fashion portraiture. What really caught my eye within the broad selection of visually pleasing images was her conceptual work, which exhibits a recurring theme of falling, levitating, and finding balance. It is, perhaps, indicative of the young photographer's own journey into the world of photography.

While Kobus has had an ever-growing interest in the art and honed her skills from a young age, the photographer found herself entering college like the rest of her peers, despite recognizing a discrepancy in her long-term goals of becoming a full-fledged photographer. In 2010, she called it quits, seeking to focus on her artistic pursuits, and hasn't stopped snapping exquisite shots since. Kobus offers an expertly composed and edited series of works that portray an airy, magical sense of time and gravity. Nothing is impossible.
