Self-Taught Digital Artist Transforms Dull Family Photos Into Spectacular Works of Art

Photoshop Master Max Asabin Turns Ordinary Photos into Spectacular Scenes

Don’t you just hate it when a picture is a little too dark? Max Asabin does, but unlike many of us, he’s able to transform a dull photograph into a spectacular work of art. Using his master Photoshop abilities, the self-taught digital artist layers multiple images together to create stunning visuals that beam with dewy light.

In a fascinating series of before-and-after photos, Asabin compares where he started with where the piece ends up. Often, he's working with several issues from the get-go, from bad lighting to distracting backgrounds. But through digital trimming, shading, highlights, and color adjustments, Asabin overcomes these obstacles to transport his subjects to another world. The result is that they look perfectly in place—like these people were always meant to be there.

Once Asabin has worked his magic, his subjects occupy romantic moonlit streets, tranquil lake scenes, and even post apocalyptic junkyards. Whether he’s going for realism or fantasy, the effect is always the same—awe-inspiring images that showcase his incredible skills and the power of Photoshop.
