Mexico’s Most Impeccable Restaurant Design

The Tori-Tori Restaurant is one of the highest rated sushi restaurants in Mexico City, and another location has just been completed in Polanco, Mexico. The building was a collaboration between architect Michel Rojkind and Esrawe design studio. Since the new location is in such a largely residential area, the designers wanted to make an impact to set the restaurant apart. They accomplished this by making a very stunning interior and exterior.

One of the most striking parts of the restaurant is its facade. Made up of two layers of steel, the patterns found on them have been cut out with the use of a CNC (computer numerical controlled) machine, then handcrafted to meet the specific specifications. The two self-supporting layers of steel seem to mimic the ivy growing on the outside terrace and are very similar but have complimentary yet subtle differences. Since Tori-Tori is a Japanese restaurant, the interior reflects a Japanese style but isn't a strict interpretation. Each room is meant to have a clear interpretation of its function and all the furniture for the restaurant was designed with Tori-Tori specifically in mind.
