Playful Typography Sculpture Makes Waiting for the Bus More Fun

Waiting for the bus just got a bit more fun with this large typography sculpture recently unveiled in Baltimore. Created by Madrid-based artist collective mmmm…–a creative collaboration between Emilio Alarcn, Alberto Alarcn, Ciro Mrquez, and Eva Salmern–the one-of-a-kind piece consists of three large letters that literally spell out the word B-U-S. Each 14-feet-tall by 7-feet-wide sculpture is constructed out of wood and steel, and functions as a place to rest as well as shelter from the sun, rain, and wind.

Each letter is large enough to fit two to four people each, and the unique designs allow people to stand, sit, or recline while waiting for their transportation to arrive. According to the artists, “BUS is a place to enjoy, interact, and meet while waiting for the bus. It is a leisure space in the middle of the rhythm of the city, a fun place for the inevitable waiting at a bus stop.”
