Reclaimed Barn Doors Transformed Into Works of Art

In The White Barn Collection, Canadian born and LA-based artist Parvez Taj transforms historic old barn doors and siding into beautiful, rustic works of art. He has pioneered the technique of using photographs, software, and UV inks to create this environmentally friendly artwork.

According to his site, Taj has “dedicated his career to making beautiful art accessible” and this series is no exception. Inspired by the coastal living of Southern California, The White Barn Collection has a vintage style that combines a sense of history with modern techniques and technology. The reclaimed wood was found on barns built from the mid-1800's through the early 1900's. It varies in age and texture, and adds a unique quality to each piece.

Due to the unique canvas that Taj chooses, every work is completely original. The life of each piece of wood can be seen in the splintering wear and tear that adds to the character of the series. I would love to have a piece of art like this, rich in history and style, hanging in my home!
