Ridiculously Beautiful Photos of New Zealand (15 photos)

Andrew Smith takes some ridiculously beautiful photos of New Zealand! You may remember Smith as the one who took us on a trip through Italy, giving us a small but memorable tour through the canals of Venice, inside the awe-inspiring Vatican museum and around the gorgeous Amalfi Coast.

While Andrew loves traveling the world and photographing beautiful countries, he still gets excited when he shoots New Zealand, the place where he lives and works. “There are a multitude of photographic opportunities all over New Zealand, from the upper North Island beaches to the Southern Alps,” he says. “I have been lucky enough to explore most of the country and I always find new and amazing places to shoot.”

Within New Zealand, Smith loves to head over to either Queenstown for their majestic lakes and mountains or to Muriwai and Karekare for their beautiful black sand beaches. Since the country is one of the first places to see the sun rise every day, Smith says, “The landscape takes on a truly dramatic look when the light is low – this makes the mornings and evenings excellent times to capture some stunning imagery.”

Smith uses a Nikon D3 camera and Adobe Lightroom 3 in post production.

You can find more of his breathtaking work on Flickr or at his online gallery where he specializes in contemporary photography, Adobe Lightroom presets and tutorials. It's called Cuba Gallery.
