8-Year-Old Burn Survivor’s Christmas Wish Is Granted with Over 200,000 Cards

8-year-old burn survivor Safyre Terry asked the world to grant her only Christmas wish and thousands answered her call. Since we last posted about Safyre and her simple request for Christmas cards, she's received over 200,000 of them and 4,000 packages, which is more than enough to fill up her Christmas card tree! She's been sent so many cards that, last Friday, a two-ton Postal Service truck had to deliver and help her unload all her mail. As for the next delivery, the local postman expects that a tractor-trailer will be needed!

In addition to the successful card drive, Safyre's supporters have donated about $300,000 on YouCaring so she can have a bright future. After hearing her story, non-profit Baking Memories also decided to give Safyre's entire family a free, one-week trip to Disney World with a pass that will allow them to be first in every line.

On Safyre's Facebook page, the young girl's aunt thanked everyone's kindness with a grateful message: “She BELIEVED and ALL of YOU are making it happen. THANK YOU.”
