20-Year-Old Photographer’s Dreamy Conceptual Portraits

20-year-old, self-taught photographer Shelby Robinson weaves stunning tales of nature, magic, and wonder in her beautiful conceptual images. Taking advantage of the abundant woods, fields, and rivers near her home in the state of Georgia, Robinson captures self-portraits that seem to draw on fairytales, fantasy stories, and legends of old. Saturated with fluid strokes, subdued tones, and deliberate pops of color, the young photographer's images have a distinctly painterly style that evokes dreamy romanticism.

“I love exploring the artistic side of photography. In my images I strive to tell a story through pose or atmosphere so that a viewer may become engaged or feel a part of that image,” says Robinson. “I enjoy making dreamy images or pictures that appear to resemble paintings. The foundation of my style consists of a fantasy aura or theme that strongly reflects my personal thoughts, stories, or feelings.”
