Up 55 stories, the Infinity Pool spans over the three towers of the Marina Bay Sands development in Singapore. 492 feet long and 650 feet high, it is three times the length of an Olympic swimming pool, making it the world’s largest outdoor pool at that height.
And swimming to the edge won’t be quite as risky as it looks. While the water in the Infinity Pool seems to end in a sheer drop, it actually spills into a catchment area where it is pumped back into the main pool.
The Marina Bay Sands resort was designed by architect Moshe Safdie who based it on a deck of cards. Costing approximately $6 billion to build, it is currently the world’s most expensive hotel, taking the throne from the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi which cost $3 billion when it opened in 2004.
