Creative Fashion Illustrations Made with Leaves

Fashion in Leaf is the latest creative endeavor by Malaysian artist Tang Chiew Ling, who is no stranger to mixing mediums and working with leaves, that features a number of “dresses” depicted with carefully placed foliage. The series combines her minimal illustrations with a variety of the organic material to present a stylish array of fashion design.

The artist's clever use of leaves never ceases to impress and invigorate. With this series, she proposed to focus her craft on one topic, forcing herself to be discerning and creative in her choice of design. While her past projects centered on the beauty of “unattractive leaves,” Ling admits that she foraged for more special and visually appealing materials this time to represent an elegant fashion line. Of course, there are still withered leaves in the mix; though, even the crinkly, brown leaves that she found made for a couture ensemble outfitted with an equally fashionable hat.
