Spectacular Aerial Photos Highlight Majestic Beauty of the Earth on a Grand Scale

Bird's Eye View Photography by Tobias Hagg

Aerial photography affords us the opportunity to take in the majestic beauty of Earth on a grand scale. For years, Stockholm-based photographer Tobias Hägg has captured a bird’s-eye view of oceans and forests in striking color and detail. The photos showcase the varied terrain of our world, such as the clear blue waters that are punctuated with lush greenery. Their compositions are straightforward—a defining feature of Hägg’s visual style. He “finds pleasure in the most simple scenes” and uses his perspective to remind us of the splendor that exists in even the most ordinary of moments.

Hägg snaps pictures of locales around the world, but currently, he’s staying a little closer to home. “Lately I have been focusing a lot on Swedish Lapland, an area in my home country I have been passionate about seeing with my own eyes for so long,” he tells My Modern Met. “I've started to scratch the surface of this amazing area of our world and been trying to reach the more inaccessible areas both through trekking and helicopters. I've been up three times now and the Swedish wilderness just blows my mind every time.”
